The KURTZ ERSA ALPHA 140 is an innovative metal 3D printer that offers a simple operation at low system costs. It is an optimal solution for the tool-free production of metal parts, especially for small and medium-sized companies, and the ideal introduction to metal additive manufacturing technology. The Alpha 140 relies on a fiber-coupled diode laser in constant 90-degree angle with 200 W of power and thus offers optimal properties for precise processing of numerous materials. The focal diameter of 140 µm enables the production of fine details and thin wall thicknesses. The Alpha 140 has a build value of Ø 140 mm x Z 200 mm and can produce parts with up to 99.9% density and geometric accuracy (xy) up to 100 µm.

 

The Alpha 140 can process stainless steels 1.4404, nickel-based alloys IN625 or IN7188, aluminium alloys (optional accessories necessary), tool steel alloys 1.2709, and others on request. It has shield gas input (Argon) of 6 bar and shield gas consumption (Argon/Nitrogen) of flooding 40 l / min, process 3 - 6 l / min. The Alpha 140 has an electrical input of 380 V 50 / 60 Hz, max. 16 A Pmax = 4 kW, single-phase with IP protection class IP54. It has an environment temperature range of 15 – 35 °C and air humidity max. 70%.

The Alpha 140 has dimensions of 1,675mm x 1028mm x 1,540mm (L x B x H) and weighs approximately ca.500 kg. It uses LMI Slice AM & Autodesk software for its operations.
